R2H Optimizations

Apperantly Asus is bundling a lot of junkware like Sony. Steve from Carrypad detected a long list of software running in the background , hurting both battery life and performance, so he removed most of them.

Process list - It hurts.
We then went through the process list and compared it to the i7210. Here are the extra processes we found. (I’m writing these down from the notes Ian wrote. There could be some spelling errors as I translate his engineers writing style!)

acmon
acovcnt
asghost

That’s a huge list of extra processes.

Yes, it is!

OnlyUMPC Asus R2H Review

OnlyUMPC published a review of Asus R2H. (Although they say “detailed” review, we have seen much more detailed ones)

The Verdict:

The Good: Clean design, great bundle of hardware & software, GPS, Extended battery & Finger Print Reader

The Bad: The finger print reader keeps prompting even if you touched it by mistake (and believe me it’s hard not to touch it, because of it placement). Not for those who think this is going to replace their main PC (this being Celeron M 900 MHz)
