Bottom line - worst case scenario (all radios on) 2 hours exactly. This compares with Kevin’s run time of 1 hour 44 minutes, a 15% increase. This is not bad and correlates with the 3 hours I am regularly getting in real use.
The SSD is still very fast, even after loading all my productivity applications, e. g. Microsoft Office 2007 beta 2. Even with Windows Desktop Search installed I am not seeing the noticeable performance hit that exists on all 3 of the other devices I’ve loaded with the beta. I don’t know if you can attribute that solely to the SSD but that’s my guess since the Q1 only has 512 MB of memory where my HP tc1100 has 1 GB.
Hugo over Uber Tablet made a good video review (or should i say unboxing video?) of Raon Digital’s Vega. You can either download the video (183 MB) or watch over Youtube in two parts. Of course, as your hardworking blogger, i downloaded the video and it’s both review and unboxing, and because we don’t have many photos and reviews of Vega, it’s quite educational.
VGA adaptor cable included.
Flexible DC input (10-15v should be able to wire directly up to auto electrics.)
Good range of external screen resolutions.
Hardware screen rotation.

Great array of key-based shortcuts. over 40 combinations of keys on RHS of device including function keys, keypad and mouse controls.
Resolution button. 4 resolutions up to 1024×768

On screen keyboard.
Mouse control via pen.
USB storage device mode.
Negative:
A Dutch retailer, Mycom, began selling Asus R2H in both their website and stores for €699 - nearly $900. It has Celeron M 900 MHz, 512 MB RAM and integrated GPS, but although they are written on the box and our previous information, it doesn’t have camera or bluetooth. A foldable keyboard included in the box.
Gadgetzone unveiled a new UMPC (although we are not sure if it has Tablet PC edition etc.) : Medion RIM 1000.
We don’t know much about it for now : 6.5-inch touchscreen, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, onboard GPS, DVB-T tuner, webcam and as you can see sliding keyboard.
Here is a very short of it:
Steve has information about Medion:
Medion often sell through Aldi in Germany and the UK and usually aim at the lowest price possible by offering the device on a particular day and selling a few thousand (or tens of thousands) within a week. Quality is acceptable and they have a knack of getting the specifications just right.
There are a lot of news floating about Samsung Q1b and Q1P, some even conflicting with each other.
Winfuture.de published news and images of Q1b. First of all, it includes 1.0 GHz VIA C7-M processor. Contrary to previous news, it has 512 MB RAM instead of 1 GB. HDSPA available, but Compact Flash slot and Ethernet port are gone. It will have the same price with Q1, €1099 in Germany and Q1 will get cheaper. In pictures it looks a bit smaller than Q1, but Carrypad reported it will have the same case as Q1.
I just said it will be €1099, but CDW is listing Q1b with 512 MB RAM and 40 GB Hard Drive with $899. No other specifications available.
They also have another Q1 model with 1 GB RAM and 60 GB Hard Drive for $1250, with no further details. But Millard, a reader of Origamiportal, posted photos of a Q1 with Pentium M 1.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM and 60 GB HDD. And it is Q1, neither Q1b or Q1P.
You know Samsung Q1b, Q1 with a VIA processor. (and 1 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard Drive) It turns out that Q1b includes more than just a different processor :
5 hours of battery life (60% more compared to Q1)
30% More brightness
WiBRO and HDSPA available
There is a little confusion about the Q1P and Q1b. PC Advisor (and JKOnTheRun over them) calls this new model Q1P. But Carrypad found Samsung’s presentation about Q1b, which reveals all these info, but it doesn’t mention having a VIA processor, so we may wait a little longer for healtier information.
Pocket-lint posted price and availability info of R2H :
The Asus R2H will be available in September with an Intel ULV Celeron M 900MHz, 768MB DDRII 667 RAM, 60GB HDD, and for making sure you can move all your existing applications and files without the need for another PC an external USB DVD Dual D/L Drive. It will have a SRP of £799 (inc VAT).
